Dawn A. Nee, Esquire (Managing Attorney)

Ms. Nee Is a graduate of University of Baltimore, with high honors in Jurisprudence, and the University of Baltimore School of Law, Juris Doctorate with honors, with a concentration in Family Law and Trial Advocacy. She was a staff editor of the Law Forum Journal and participated in the Family Law Clinic program for two years as a student attorney and mediator. She participated in and won the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition’s at the University of Baltimore two consecutive years, moving on to regional competitions. Ms. Nee also worked as an intern in the Baltimore County Circuit Court for Judge Daniels. She has a small firm in Carroll County, Maryland.

Ms. Nee is active in the Maryland State Bar Association Family Law Section, Carroll County Bar Association and Baltimore County Bar Association. She was a co-founder of the Carroll County Collaborative Professional group, which provided advanced education to professionals in collaborative family law. She was a co-founder of the University of Baltimore School of Law’s Family Law Association, a group designed to further educate law students in the area of family law. She is a trained, court-approved, mediator and has helped to critique those learning to mediate at the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, Inc. Ms. Nee is trained in Collaborative Law, which provides options to clients seeking a different approach to divorce or custody matters than traditional litigation. Ms. Nee also volunteers at the Carroll County Pro Se clinic. She currently serves as the Vice President of the board for Dad's Work's, a local non-profit that assists parents to be their best.

Ms. Nee has an Associate of Science degree in Psychology, focusing on the normal and abnormal development of children and adolescents. She worked and gathered additional training as a child care provider for several years, helping her to provide a unique insight into the needs of children. She has a Bachelors degree in Jurisprudence, blending  law, political science and history, from University of Baltimore.

She currently serves as the President of the Gerstell Academy Parent Orhanization and has volunteered as a PTA/PTO board member for several public schools in Carroll and Baltimore counties, as a softball coach, 4H leader, 4H fair board member, 4H judge in public speaking, as the Vice President on the Baltimore County Extension Advisory Council, as the Vice President of the Manchester Area Merchants Association, and for countless other community interests. She is the mother of 4 and is very active in the community. When not at work she is frequently found at a baseball field, basketball court, football field or listening to local music.

Kelly Gillett, Esquire Associate Attorney

Kelly Gillett, Esquire (Associate Attorney)

Kelly grew up in Timonium, and currently resides in Baltimore City.  While in law school, she demonstrated her commitment to family law, while acting as a Rule 16 Student Attorney for the Family Law Clinic and the Mediation Clinic.

Kelly was also staff editor for the Law Forum Journal.  During the summer, she interned in the Baltimore City Circuit Court for Judge Karen Friedman and for Lazarus Legal Group in Montgomery County.  Prior to law school, Kelly majored in psychology and studied counseling and child development.  Her interest in family counseling motivated her to pursue a career in family law.

She earned her J.D. in May 2018 from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and B.A., in 2012 from Towson University.  She was admitted to the bar of Maryland in December 2018 and is continuing her commitment to helping families through difficult experiences.

Ms. Gillettt has been with the firm since 2018. She handles an array of case types including all family law cases, wills, trusts and estates, landlord/tenant matters, real estate deeds, small claims actions, and other elder law matters. She has earned the trust and respect of our clientele. She also volunters regularly with the Family Law Clinic in Carroll County.
